Trophy's is closing.
Trophy’s is where I discovered Prayer For Animals and SNAFU Kitties, two of my favorite Austin bands. It was also where a staff member once threatened to stop the show and kick everyone out unless the person responsible came forward and cleaned up the steaming logs of shit they plopped on the men’s room floor. So you can understand my mixed feelings for the place.

It's that time of the year in Austin...
…when every shot bar, housing co-op, art gallery, bicycle shop, public park, gravel lot and cozy backyard in Austin becomes a live music venue, and thousands of bands from around the world descend upon this city to play for free in front of tourists who stand politely while anxiously contemplating the next free party they have to be at.
That kinda sounds like I hate South by Southwest, but...
